Say Nothing/ Irish trauma

Say Nothing, as I watched episode 6 just now, the powerful, deeply moving hunger strike episode...Say Nothing is a gripping psychological crime drama that dives deep into the silence, secrets, and moral compromises surrounding violence and loyalty. Set against a tense political backdrop, the story explores how ordinary people become entangled in extraordinary acts—and how what they refuse to say can be just as powerful as what they do. With haunting performances and a slow-burn intensity, the series shows how memory, guilt, and truth collide when silence becomes a weapon...I already read the book which inspired the series, and the series is helping deepen my understanding of my adoptive mom's childhood trauma, as well as my own, (which is at the heart of my debut memoir Killing Justice), as her dad Robert (my Grandpa Bob) was a Protestant who grew up in Belfast, & a member of the Loyal Orangemen, whose best friend was killed by the IRA, & who, after he emigrated to Canada, could never go back to Ireland, which meant he must have taken revenge.
