For Nietzsche, the tragedy is not failure. It is conformity. He said people would rather be wrong with the crowd than right alone. Authenticity requires solitude, and solitude requires courage most never cultivate— Friedrich Nietzsche
Failure teaches, but conformity erases. To follow the crowd is to abandon yourself. Authenticity is lonely, but it is the only path to truth. Courage is not in victory, but in standing alone.
Fortunately for me, I was gifted ten months of solitude, which forced me to develop the courage to be "not sufficiently socialized for conformity".
