grabbing a quick picture with the visionary writer/director of the Cannes Palme D'or winning Fjord, Cristian Mungiu, after last night's screening & Q&A at USC...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this truly transcendent, darkly comic masterpiece, my new choice for best international feature, narrowly edging out Possible Love, primarily because Fjord is a more challenging film, by humanizing both sides of a very polarizing conflict, whereas Possible Love has more clearly defined heroes & villains...in addition, Fjord explores themes of religious trauma, foster & adoptive trauma, & abuse of power, all of which are central themes of my debut memoir Killing Justice, (as well as its upcoming screen adaptation Orphan Rising) and manages to do so in a way that really humanizes those on all sides of the issues being explored, & which, like Orphan Rising, was inspired by a true story...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frg59VOungA
